Make Believe and
Mischief Calendar
Featuring her now five-month-old Maltese puppies Madison and Macie, who are sisters from the same litter, “Make Believe and Mischief” follows the pups during their first year of Hollywood adventures, holiday celebrations, and magical moments.
As the calendar is distributed and shared among animal lovers, Monroe is asking fans of Madison and Macie to make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. On September 15, 2022, donors who contribute at least $25 to St. Jude will receive their own copy of “Make Believe and Mischief” while supplies last. Donors must send their mailing address and proof of donation to [email protected] to receive their calendar.
The genesis of “Make Believe and Mischief” centers around love and healing Monroe’s broken heart after losing her faithful Maltese companion, Bailey, at seventeen years old. In a case of serendipity, Bailey shared a birthday with Monroe’s late father, Edward Petros, as well as family friend and founder of the Women in Military Service for America Memorial, Ret. Brig General Wilma Vaught. Monroe had hoped to do something to honor these three important pillars in her life—little did she know that two new special souls would give her just the right inspiration.
Shortly after Bailey’s passing, Monroe opened her heart and home to Madison and Macie, who were born in Northern Virginia and share the aforementioned birthday week. It seemed to be fate that brought them together.
Monroe watched the sisters grow from 3,000 miles away, and their Southern charm captured her heart. When they were ready to come home around Mother’s Day 2022 at just two pounds each, Monroe flew out to her home state of Virginia to bring her girls back to LA.
Right away, Monroe’s casting director instincts could see that Madison and Macie were naturals on camera. They started work with an animal trainer right away and even booked their first commercial gig before they were four months old.
“They LOVE doing tricks and being on camera,” says Monroe. “Madison and Macie are very well-socialized and enjoy learning. They are such individual personalities.”
Wanting to share in the positivity and joy of the girls’ puppyhood, Pixie connected with Hunter Photography and an amazing wardrobe consultant (who has four Maltese dogs of her own), and they got to work creating sets and costumes for an entire calendar year.
The end result was “Make Believe and Mischief,” which is as fun as it is meaningful.
“It’s a great way to honor my parents, give back, and bring joy to countless people with the girls’ cuteness and silly expressions,” said Monroe.
